Opening a pst. file

I saved a pst. file and then changed computers when my hard drive blew.  Now
I cannot open it....sometimes it seems to want me to tell the program and
sometimes it says the file is password protected....  HELP please

If the PST file is located on read-only media like a CD, please copy it to
the hard drive and make sure that the read-only attribute is removed.
