Outlook errors

I'm running Windows NT with Outlook 2000 and I get an error when I open
Outlook. A message pops up and says "Please wait while Windows configures
Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional" and then an error pops up saying
"Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000
SR-1 Professional. The Windows installer cannot continue". I click OK on the
error and then the same thing happens so I click OK on the error again and
then Outlook opens and works just fine.

It was suggested that I reinstal Office. When I tried to do that, I got an
error saying "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this
installation". I am one of the system administrators but this problem with
Outlook only happens when I log on as one of the users. I changed the options
so the user has Administrative privledges but I still get this message. Is
there somewhere else to change the "policies" so I can reinstall the program
when logged on as this user (the program works fine when I'm logged on as
administrator). Or does anyone have suggestions to stop this error?

See if this article helps:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310777
OFF: Error Messages When You Try to Run Office Setup on Windows XP

If you have the source CD for Office, you might try putting it in the CD
drive: Outlook shouldstop complaining after it gets whatever it wants off
the CD.

Thanks for the help but since I'm running Windows NT, the steps on this
webpage, don't help. Any other ideas? I just need to reinstall Outlook under
this one user.

Thanks.

What the article has to say about WindowsXP applies to WindowsNT. This is a
security issue,  a "Standard User" cannot install the software, an
"Administrator" can.  Make this user a member of the local machine
Administrators group and the installation will work.
