having trouble configuring Outlook 2000.

I believe I went through this same problem a few years ago, but can't find
any data on the solution.
I recently did a fresh install of Office 2000. Everything works fine except
for Outlook, which will not "remember" passwords, and will not allow me to
personalize the Outlook Today page. When I click the "change Outlook Today"
nothing happens. I have tried re-install, repair, etc.
