The new security update for outlook from microsoft
automatically removes attachments with a variety of
extensions. the extension list can be controlled by the
administrator for users using exchange. does anyone know
the reg hack to edit or remove this feature from outlook
for users using internet email only?

thanks

A registry entry lets you customize the list of blocked files in Outlook 2000 SP3 and later versions. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm#ol2002 for links to info and tools. That page also lists the options available for earlier versions.

Thanks very much sue. although the download installed, it
didn't work so i opted for the manual registry edit with
instructions from slipstick which worked like a dream...
thanks again!

I just added the security update and I found that some
attachments are greyed out.  This has never happened
before.  I have searched and can not find an override.
