My Outlook 2002 options specify that it is the default for email, etc.
However, while I can send email from OL 2002, all of my incoming email goes
into Outlook Express. When I click on Send/Receive I get "The Operation
Failed" And, when I  click on "Define Send/Receive Groups" nothing at all
happens.

Is this familiar to anyone? Does anyone have a suggestion for addressing
this?

Creating a new profile might solve the problem.
