I tried to install Outlook 2002 on a new computer where Outlook 2003
unwittingly already was and both seem to have been corrupted. I need 2002 to
sync with my PDA so I uninstalled the 2003 and attempted to reinstall the
2002 and it tells me that it is unable to display the selected folder or item
or that it's unable to open my default email folders. It then asks me if I'd
like to open my default file system instead and when I say yes, it tells me
there is a runtime error and must close down and if I say no to the file
system question, it just shuts out of the program entirely. I have tried to
delete my email profiles and recreate them, but that helps not at all. what
now?

I installed Outlook 2002, which is a necessary part of the synchronization
with my PDA. I have the same problem in that it tells me that it is unable
to open your default email folders. Could not open them. try again. It
then also asks me if I want to open my default file system folder. If I
click yes, it opens Outlook with 'My Computer'. If I click no, the program
closes entirely.

I have the same problem after installing SP3 with Outlook 2002 previously
installed. Sorry but I also need answers.

I can not even open Outlook. When I do it gives a message: An OLE
registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run
Setup again for the program.
Then when I click on the OK button it closes down.
Is there another program I could use with my PDA for my contact?
I never had this much trouble with my old PDA with Palm OS.

Start>Run. Enter
regsvr32.exe ole32.dll
click OK.

I am having the same problem. Have you gotten any responses or figured out
how to fix this?

Why? Your PDA should sync with Outlook 2003 as easily as with Outlook 2002.

Your mail profile isn't looking in the correct place. Fix it in Control
Panel's Mail applet.
