HOW DO I CONNECT VIA INTERNET TO DOWNLOAD MY OUTLOOK EMAILS

we have smal business server and email through outlook
i know i can access through the internet using microsoft exchange and view
email live on the internet
however how can i set up my email account so that if i am not connected on
the local area network and i am connected to the internet it will then open
my email account this way

I am assuming that you are connecting to the Small Business Server as an
Exchange client, the options you have is Outlook Web Access which is a
browser based facility for viewing your mailbox (you dont use Outlook at all
for this), or you VPN into the server and configure an Outlook client to
connect to your mailbox, other options depending on what is setup is POP3 or
IMAP. You really need to talk to your sysadmin or Exchange admin about what
is available.
