I just completed re-installation of Windows XP, which included Office XP. I
have installed all of the updates to both. My only remaining problem is with
Outloook 2002 SP3 on my broadband connection. I have verified all the correct
settings with my provider, but I still receive a "timeout" error response on
the POP3 and SMTP servers. I run McAfee for firewall and virus protection,
but have granted full inbound/outbound access to Outlook and it still isn't
working. I am looking for any suggestions to help with this problem.

Temporarily disable both the firewall and the AV program ans see if that
makes a difference.
