Trying to set up Office Outlook 2003 on a new computer with Windows XP Pro
Service Pack 3. When setting up and pressing "Test Account Settings"
Establish Network Connection is checked and shows Status "Completed" but
both Find Outgoing Mail Server and Find Incoming Mail Server are red exed
and say "Cancelled".  I know the e-mail settings are correct and work on
Eudora and IE6 works fine.  Telnet also verifies everything as OK.  Please
does anyone have any  idea what might be the problem?

Did you double check that your firewall is allowing outbound and inbound
connections by Outlook?

Thank you for the reply Milly.  At present the windows firewall is "off".
This is an install on a newly formatted harddrive and no other software
other than Microsoft Office 2003 installed. The connection is directly to
Comcast.net via there cable modem.  This is the second time I have installed
the OS with the same results.
