I had to switch from the exchange server I was using to a pop3 account. I
set up the pop3 account and it was working fine. I deleted the exchange
account and now the pop3 account doesn't work anymore. I pointed it to a
personal folder .pst file and checked all settings. I have no idea what the
problem is and I cannot log back on to the exchange server because that
domain is no longer available

Start with a new profile and point it at the PST.
