Viewing Forwarded Email in Outlook 2003

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv9623cl notebook with Vista Home Premium as
the operating system.  The email program was Windows Mail which lacks the
functionality of Outlook so I reinstalled my copy of Office 2003 Pro with
Outlook on the new machine.

Setup went well with one exception, forwarded email.  I can't open email
that has been forwarded as an attachment.  I tried saving the attachment and
opening it with Outlook (the attachment was a .msg file) but it keeps trying
to default to Windows Mail and won't open with Outlook.

Can someone help save the little hair I have left? I would appreciate any
suggestions.

'Control panel|Default Programs|Set your Default programs', make sure
Microsoft Office Outlook is the default and has all it's defaults.

Thanks for trying to help but it didn't work.

For those of you who may experience the same problem it turned out to be
Google Desktop.  Once it was removed, everything worked great.
