Outlook 2007 desktop alert.

In the e-mail options advanced tab there is a display desktop alert that
should display a box with a brief description of the mail received.

I can preview the box using the settings display but when I receive mail it
does not show up even though I have checked the "display a New Mail Desktop
Alert".

Am I missing another setting?

Thanks in advance. Bob.
