Yesterday, with the help of my cable technical support, I configured the
above to transfer my main email account to the Outlook inbox.  We could not,
however, subscribe to newsgroups, which was my purpose in opening the
program.  Neither one of us was sure what we did wrong.  The technician sent
a request for support to Microsoft, but I do not know when that will arrive,
or in which inbox.  When Outlook calls for user IDs and passwords, does it
want the one set up with my cable provider, or my NET Passport account?
Could the problem be something other than that?

All depends on which news server you subscribe to. The ones from Microsoft
do not require any form of authentication.

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
