Any help will be appreciated.

When I receive an excel attachment, double click on it, it opens Excel, but
the document does not open with it. If I click on any button, (like File-Open
icon) and click cancel, then the document would appear on the screen.

I noticed that (while connected in online mode to the exchange server) if
you click on the attachment tab, the preview of the attachment loads, and
then if you double click on the attachment then, it will open fine.

I have done the following:
These are the following things I have tried.
Ran all of MS updates, Office Compatibility Pack.

My environment:
Laptop, Windows XP SP2, Office 2007 SP1, IE7, exchange server configuration.

I should be able to just double click on the attachment without using the
auto preview, right?

I did not get an answer from anyone yet.

But to add some extra cents to the coin treasury, I re-created the
outlook.ost file. I then noticed that if you allow the attachment to do an
autopreivew once on any excel attachment, after that, any other excel
attachment will work by double clicking on it regularly.

That is the only work around I have for now. If you find any other solutions
let me know.
