Hi,

I'm having a small problem. I managed to mess up setting up an email account
the first time I loaded Outlook 2007 up, now everytime I attempt to start
Outlook 2007 it keeps trying to set-up that email account.

----Description of problem----

I get a window saying "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.
Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action" Clicking OK
gives the window (1) asking for my Microsoft Exchange Server and my mailbox
name, with a button to "Check Name" next to the mail box entry.

If I enter my details and try to check the name it says "The name cannot be
resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must
be online or connected to complete this action." The only way to exit this
window is by clicking OK.

Back to the entry window above (1). If I click OK it gives an error, if I
click cancel it gives a window with "Cannot open your default e-mail folders.
The file C:\Users\Myaccname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost is
not an offline folder file." Only way to exit window is by clicking OK, and
this causes Outlook to shut down.

----What I've done----

I've tried to uninstall Outlook numerous times (successfully I might add),
as well as removing the entire Office package. But always the message
appears, I've tried to follow some of the more in-detail descriptions of
removing Outlook but they don't seem applicable as the program is
uninstalling, but the settings aren't. Also most of the Reg Keys/Files and
folders that should be removied simply aren't there when I look for them to
remove them.

----What I think I need----

Some method of removing all settings that are stored on the computer about
Outlook. Removing the program via Add/Remove Programs is not sufficient. I am
running Vista Business with no external virus checkers etc.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Uninstalling OL has no impact on the mail Profile, niether does a repair.
Either use the mail applet in the control panel to correctly configure the
account or type of server, eg pop or exchange
Or create a new Profile & start over

Thanks for that, I had noticed something about the Mail icon in the Control
Panel but had forgotten it after being unable to find it. Still couldn't
until I searched for it... must be a bit blind. I have managed to remove the
profile and start afresh.

Thanks for help.
