What are the out going server settings supposed to be? I can receive my email
perfectly, just can't send. Keep getting "YOur server does not support the
connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption
method.

I've tried all the available options SSL, None, TLS, and Auto. Called Qwest
and they want to send me directly to MS who wants $50 to tell me whats wrong.

Win XP Pro SP2, OL 2007 SP1
Outgoing sever: smtp.live.com, port number 25, current encryption SSL

Thanks for any help

You'll have to ask your ISP for that information.  It's different for every
ISP.

I started with my ISP, that's who Qwest is. Since the error is an encryption
error they couldn't answer because they "don't support Outlook".

are you using both authenticated sending and SSL encryption? Live.com (or
qwest if this is an acct provided by qwest) should have instructions.

also - start with a new profile or new account. The current one might be
corrupted.

Qwest has no instructions for this problem. I tried to create a new one and
it did not work.

My account settings are:
Account type: POP3
incoming mail server: pop3.live.com
outgoing mail server: smtp.live.com
logon requires SPA is checked

advanced page says:
incoming server uses port 995 and requires SSL
outgoing server uses port 25 and uses SSL

I have no problems receiving email, just cannot send. I don't want to use
the connector thing or the HTTP? type either. I want it to download and be
completely separate from the online access.

Thanks.
