Outlook 2007 Decided It Needs Reconfigured/Reinstalled All the Tim

I'm running Outlook 2007 & Vista Home Premium on Time Warner's POP server and
it's been running fine for months with no problems. Now I'm getting
reinstalling and reconfiguring messages almost everytime I open Outlook or
try to send or receive messages. Outlook works okay but must it always go
through this reinstall/reconfigure dance first? I have tried the Office
repair and creating new email profiles but still the same results.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

did you install any new programs recently? it may be a corrupt windows
installer.

Do you let the installer finish or cancel it? let it run.

Ms. P. - I let the installer finish and then the program opens BUT it runs
again when I send an email or open the program the next time. The programs
work but they go through this install/configure deal every time. I should
mention that it does it on all Office 2007 programs too (Excel, Word,
Powerpoint, Access, etc.).

How do I fix a corrupt Windows Installer (if that may be the problem)?

I wanted to use it but it warns against using it for Office 2007. Should I
ignore the warning?

Where did you see that warning? I don't see it when I run the utility,
although I cancel before it does anything.

At the top of your link it reads: Description of the Windows Installer
CleanUp Utility

Warning The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is provided "as is" to help
resolve installation problems for programs that use Microsoft Windows
Installer. If you use this utility, you may have to reinstall other programs.
Caution is advised. We recommend that you do not use this utility with 2007
Office system products.

However, I ran it anyway and removed (individually) each Office 2007 entry.
I reinstalled Office 2007 (as Administartor) but the repeating
reconfig/reinstall message is still occuring. Arrrrgh!

I am having the exact same problem with Office 2007.  I initially noticed the
problem with Outlook.  Now, it is occuring with the entire Office 2007.  I've
tried the same measures you have with no success.  I am about to go back to
Office 2003.  Help!

Marjorie - My problem is fixed. If your problem is the same as mine,
something in the registry is corrupted. I had Microsoft Support work on it
for quite a while and, in the end, the only thing we could do was to
reinstall Windows Vista. Then reinstall all the programs. Although it takes
hours to do, I must say, that in addition to fixing all the Office 2007
problems, my TV tuner and some other things that didn't work (or partially
worked) now work correctly. It was worth the effort to me. I hope this helps.
