outlook v. outlook express

i loaded microsoft outlook into my computer that was
already running outlook express. i made outlook the
designated program to receive mail. i get no mail on
outlook express keeps getting the mail. what am i doing
wrong

Did you try Exporting OE settings to OL or did you set them up yourself?
With OE closed have you tried sending a test mail to yourself?
If they are both set up correctly whichever is open will receive mail - if
you connect
