I am trying to install Outlook 97 on a system running Win
98SE.  After installing Outlook, I added the Internet Mail
service, but could not access the properties to configure
the Pop3 and SMTP server info.  It says the action could
not be completed when I click the properties button. I am
also getting the message "Internet Email Service is not
installed properly. Please reinstall Oultoook and specify
Corporate or Workgroup Email Service."

I have tried reinstalling outlook, and do not see any
option to specify corporate/workgroup email service.
Additionally, I though that was for running Outlook
through an exhcange server.  Im just trying to set this up
for internet mail only service trough a modem.  One last
point...this computer did previously have OL set up to run
through an exchange server by my work (don't know if that
makes a difference).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This sounds like the previous version of Outlook was not completely removed. Perhaps you can fill us in with details of what version that might have been?
