I am using group policy to assign installations of Office 2003 to our
workstations on the domain.I am wondering how to add the office updates to
the installation point. Is there a step by step guide on how to do this? I
am confused.

One way to accomplish that would be to apply the administrative update to your installation point then use a management tool to invoke the client updates.

See this section of the Office Resource Kit for details
