Outlook as default e-mail client

WinXP Pro
Office XP Pro
I get an "operation failed" message when I open Outlook and try to "send and
receive"...
If I change to Outlook Express (as the default client), I can collect my
e-mail.  Word, Excel, PP, etc all operate as they should.  I have tried to
repair Office.  I have removed, re-booted, and re-installed Office.
Anything I have missed?

Resolved the issue with the Microsoft Office Resource Kit Tools package that
I downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork
AND, I am happy!

Another thing that might work for people is running the pst file repair tool
on the ost file.
