outlook icon will not delete from desktop or delete to recycle bi.

Right click then select "Delete" OR drag & drop OUTLOOK icon on desktop to
recycle bin results in "Confirm Delete" msg box. Msg continues "The Outlook
Desktop icon provides special functionality and we recommend that you do not
remove it." "YES" is selected and icon remains with no further msg. How do
I remove OUTLOOK icon from desktop???

you could try this
START | RUN | REGEDIT | OK
Locate the following Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Deskto
p\NameSpace\
There is a key with this numbers
{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
please delete this key and the icon is remove from you desktop
