I am receiving an error message when I try to get email, that my .pst file is
denying access. I searched for all files on my hard drive with a .pst
extension and there were none. However, where my .pst file used to be is a
file with a .nick extension. How do I fix this as I can't access email at all.

The .nick file is a default OL file, and not your pst file renamed.
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook
is the default location of the OL pst file.
When searching for a pst you need to search to include hidden.
You perhaps need to run the repair tool, scanpst.exe, on your pst when you
locate it.
