I keep getting operation failed when I click send/receive to download mail
from a pop3 server.

Check with your ISP for the correct server settings. One tiny typo can be the
cause.

I also have this.  Checked with ISP and everything was set correctly.  I get
error message 0x80042108.

I have a similar issue except my problem is intermittent. Usually my
Send/Receive does fine but I sometimes receive 10 to 12 error messages per
day. My ISP has worked through all of my setting and they are correct.
