Hi,

As part of a rollout I need to make modifications to Outlook 2003 profile.

When we start rolling out Exchange 2003 we will need to modify the profiles
of the users who will already have Outlook 2003. What we will do is enable
cache mode,  disable send/receive groups, enable Unicode for OST and address
book etc.

I have been playing with Custom Maintenance Wizard and setting changes that
are relevant for when the back end is Exch2k3.

The problem is when I modify the setting for Send/Receive groups and then
run the cmw file I find the changes for Send/Receive are written to the
registry (srsimport) but the setting do not change on the client.

I thought one of the benefits of Outlook 2003 over Outlook XP was that you
could as an administrator push Send/Receive settings to users (In Outlook
2002 this was a manual piece of work)

Regards

Saff

Contact Microsoft Support -- there apparently is a hotfix for the srsimport
problem. I haven't seen it in the KB yet, but know another user who has it.

Just curious -- what kind of SRS settings are you trying to deploy?

Sue,
Thanks for the responce.

We are just trying to disable all the SRS settings we required for Outlook
XP when our users would dial in remotely. These settings would sync a number
of folders several times download the OAB.

With Outlook 2003 we will use the cache mode and hopefully this will
dispense with SRS and the old settings, and should work better with slow
links. (If it does what it says on the box!)

Regards

Saff
