If you're in a standalone user all your data is in a PST file. Search your
drive for PST files (if you're using Win2000 or XP they are probably in
hidden folders) and when you find the one you need, open it in Outlook using
File | Open.

Thanks. I tried this but still could not retrieve the emails. I also had
setup sub-folders and they also dissapeared. Any other suggestions?

What happened when you tried it -- can you list the exact steps you took and
what happened when you opened the file? Also, what were you using before
Outlook 2000?
