I have recently installed outlook 2003 and have checked the options general
box that selects send/receive on start up.  I am still having to manually
hit send/receive to get new mail.  I appreciate your help.  Thanks in

Outlook has no such option. What option did you check?

I am sorry.  Seem to have mixed up OE and O in trying to get my messages set
up to down load on opening.

You are correct.  Outlook has no option for setting this function up.

Would you know how to make Outlook automatically download my new messages
upon start up please?

Thanks in advance--skip

Sure. Just set an automatic Send/Receive interval in Tools > Send/Receive >
Send/Receive settings > Define Send/Receive groups.
