Having created a couple of new Outlook 2003 email accounts I decided to
remove them in favour of webmail accounts.  However by Windows XP account
login keeps telling me I have a number of unread emails in these email
accounts that I thought I had deleted.    How do I get rid of these unread
messages and the annoying reminder adjacent to my Windows account login icon
?  Recreating the email accounts doesn't resolve.

For this
1. Select on "Mailbox - <account name>"
2. Right Click on "Mailbox - <account name>"
3. Select Close - "Mailbox - <account name>"

Please let me know if this answered your question

Then i think you can do this:

Tools > EMail Accounts > View or change existing email accounts > remove
