You can do the same thing with the IMAP account. Copy all the folders to a
.pst file, then save that .pst file somewhere.

So you are telling me that if we kill both the account on the server and the
mail that lives on the server we could still recover all of this persons
emails. Please explain how this would be possible? I thought that IMAP
lives in the server and it retrieves emails/folders as you see them?

Did you understand my previous post? If you copy the data to folders in a
.pst file, then the copied data lives in that .pst file independent of what
happens to the server.
