One Outlook (2000), different .pst files

Hi,

I don't know if this is possible, but I want to access one single .pst file
from several Outlook instances simultaneously. Moreover, one Outlook
instance is supposed to receive different e-mail recipients into distinct
.pst files.

To get into more detail:

* I have to computers, hence two Outlook programs.

* There is one e-mail account supposed to be used for my hotline, both
Outlook instances should access the inbox of this account (me, employee).

* There is also a private e-mail account, only one Outlook instance should
access this inbox (me).

* Only my Outlook is supposed to send e-mail messages, both for the hotline
as well as my private account. The employee's Outlook may put e-mails into
the outbox but they should not be transmitted from there immediately. (Well,
for now, until she gets acquainted with the job.)

I'm sharing one .pst file across computers and both Outlook instances are
linked to this .pst file. This works so far.

Now I want to add a second .pst file to my Outlook and want it to put all
e-mail messages received for my private account to this .pst file. Is it
possible to assign a .pst file to an e-mail account?

TIA,
Axel Dahmen

When Outlook opens a PST file it locks it. No other instance of Outlook can
open that PST until the first instance closes it (and then it takes a while
to actually release the lock). PST files are not designed for concurrent
usage or sharing.

See some of the alternative sharing and methods of networking Outlook at
