Even though Outlook 2003 is said to be able to import
Eudora 5.x Mailboxes I don't get it done.

The Mailboxes (.MBX and corresponding .TOC files) are
stored in the same place as Eudora.exe. There is
no "Eudora..."-entry in the Autoexec.bat.

Still my Outlook 2003 prompts me with the err msg "The
mail folder could not be opened".

In fact Outlook - after choosing "import internet mail
and addresses" - offers the option "Eudora (Pro and
Light) 2.x, 3.x and 4.x". Version 5.x is claimed to be
supported in the Outlook help and on
support.microsoft.com.

Do I have to install an update or an aditional import
filter? What else could I be doing wrong?

Try using Outlook Express as an intermediary.......
