Did you get any documentation with the product? Help (F1) no use? Check the
Symantec website for support with their products....

I have Norton Internet Security 2004 (you didn't say what product you
have), so I will tell you what I know about it. When you open the Norton
window, do you see the list of System Status items, and is AntiSpam
listed?  Is it turned on?  If it is off, turn it on (you can do this
with the Turn On button or with the Configure button). When you finish
that, click OK to close those dialog boxes.

Then click on the Options button, look at General tab and make sure your
product starts at system startup.  Mine wasn't because of two previous
versions of NIS (2003 and 2002), so I had to uninstall and manually edit
my registry and reinstall and reboot several times.  Then click the
E-mail tab, and you will have three sets of boxes to check for e-mail
scanning, spam filter training. Click OK when you're done. You might
have to reboot after you finish with Norton.

In Outlook, go to Tools, Options, Other Tab, Advanced Options buttons (I
have Outlook 2002 SP3, so yours could vary), then choose the COM Add-Ins
button, and you should have the Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin in the
window, Load Behavior Load at Startup. If you don't have it, you will
have to add it.

I posted on May 12 that I am getting error messages when I check my web
based e-mail accounts like Hotmail.com and MSN.com (not POP3 accounts),
and Outlook is having a problem and has to close, send error reports to
Microsoft. I am certain now that recent Security improvements to Outlook
have not yet been addressed by Norton engineers (Symantec), and I am
having no luck getting any help from Symantec.  Something is wrong with
the COM Add-In, and I am ready to remove mine.  I am getting tired of
sending error reports to Microsoft.
