I have Trend Micro Anti-Spam filter installed in Outlook Express, it works really well as far as spam detection. There is however a conflict with the plugin and the new mail sound normally heard when a new email arrives. I tried uninstalling the plugin and the sound returned. As soon as I re-installed the plugin the sound disspeared again. I know this is an Outlook group, but I figured the issue may exist in both programs, anyone had any similar experiences with this plugin? The first is news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.lublic.outlookexpress.general . I have no idea where to find the second. The interfaces into Outlook and Outlook Express are sufficiently different that a plug-in for one may not operate anything like a plug-in for the other. SignatureBrian Tillman I received an email from Trend Micro Support it appears to be a known issue: This is a known issue of TMAS v3.52 which is listed in Readme file as item 7.17. The 3rd party module inside TMAS would influence the function of sound notification. Please see the description below. 7.17 Notification features may not work successfully with Trend Micro Anti-Spam installed. ===================================================================== The notification icon for new messages in the status bar and "Play sound when new messages arrive" features of Outlook Express may not work successfully with Trend Micro Anti-Spam installed.
