I am noticing sometimes when I click on "send/receive" to
retireve messages, the status bar indicates "sending 1 of
1". This is surprising, since I did not have any pending
outbox mail to be sent. Shen I click on the "Sent Mail"
folder, there is no evidence of any recent sent mail.
Anyone encounter this and have an idea of what's going on?

Thanks for your help.

I suspect that "Sending 1 of 1" indicates not that you're sending a message
but that you're running the first of one "Sending" task.  This sending task
discovers that it has nothing to do.
