I have Outlook 2003 & Windows XP.  When I try to send
messages, they get stuck in my outbox (it's shown in bold,
no italics).  I receive with no problem.  I tried
uninstalling and reinstalling my email account, but it
didn't make any difference.  What should I do?

Any error messages?  Have you tried turning on mail logging (under tools |
options | other | advance options) and reviewing the OPMLog file to see if
Outlook is even making a connection attempt?  You also might want to tell us
what type of connection you are working with.  For example, broadband
connection behind a linksys router that lets you share a single ip with many
machines? (Linksys used to have a problem in the past concerning MTU, hence
me mentioning it.)

I get an error message when I try to send that says:
Sending and receiving reported error (0x8004011D).  The
server is not available.  Contact your administrator if
the condition persists.

I also turned on the log, but how do I view the log I
create?  Outlook's help tasks don't seem to answer this
question.

I have a broadband connection with Comcast, a home
network, but separate IP addresses for each machine (my
wife's machine uses OE and has no problem). I don't think
I have a router, though, but I need to check to be
certain. I'll also check the logfile tonight to see what
it says.  I did notice in the lower right-hand corner of
the screen that it says "Not Connected" and I didn't
understand what that meant nor how it correlated with my
ability to receive email without a problem.
Thanks for your help.
