Hi,

I have been having this problem where email takes between 20 sec to 1 min to
open or even preview (with or with out attachment).

Strangely, not everyone in the office has this problem, so I guess guess I
can rule out exchange server issue. Can I?

Ideas anyone? Thank you...

Try starting in safe mode as a test to do this do to Start > Run > type
"outlook /safe" without the quotes, if it is okay like this then check in
Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Add-in Manager and uncheck all
and restart Outlook normally, does it still seem slow opening/previewing
emails, if no change recheck all the addins and restart Outlook

TOOLS > OPTIONS > OTHER > take the tick out of the INSTANT
MESSAGING box.

That box been checked is known to slow down Outlook and
the preview display.  Mine used to take about 20/30
seconds to show.  Now its pretty much straight away.  Try
it and let me know.

Cheers,
Andy

Thanks Andy, but I think the instant messanging box applies from Outlook
2002 and above right?

Robert, I uncheck all Add-in and it seems it be working fine so far. Is it
ok to leave it uncheck for now?

Thanks for the help guys.

Yep the instant messenger integration was added in Outlook 2002,, as for the
addins I would check 1 at a time and restart each time until you get to the
culprit especially as you are connecting to an Exchange mailbox as there are
some addins that relate to Exchange like Delegation for instance.
