I just bought a new laptop & am trying to transfer my
personal folder information to the laptop from my desktop.
I can export them to cd rom, but the receiving computer
cannot open them.  They say "read only" or "do not have
permission".  What am I doing wrong.  Both computers are
running xp and office 2003.

Copy them from CD to your hard drive, remove the read only attribute, and
then use File>Open>Outlook Data File in Outlook to open them.
