I would like to see the jpegs I sent out with my sent items but all I have
are attachments.  How could I change this?  Even the photos that come into my
mail are all attachments not part of my email as it was in outlook express.

Hi Connie,

Sounds like you are describing a difference of features between Outlook
Express and Microsoft Outlook.  When you received messages in Outlook
Express that contains picture (jpg, gif, etc) has the ability to do what is
called in-line previewing of attachments.  Microsoft Outlook doesn't have
this feature.

In order to get the recipient to see the pictures when receiving a message
in Microsoft Outlook, the message needs to be sent in HTML format and the
sender needs to use the Insert | Picture menu command.  (This causes Outlook
to attach and embed the picture into the message.)

Hello Connie,

For sending pictures: choose "HTML" for a message format, click the place
where you want the picture to show, and choose Insert> Picture> From File.

For receiving: Tools> Options> Security> Download Pictures> Change Automatic
Download Settings. Read that and make your selections. "Tools> Options>
Preferences> E-mail Options> Read all standard mail in plain text" may also
interfere, if checked.

Best Wishes,
IanRoy
