Hi,

Using email Options I set up an email to be sent to myself in ten minutes to
test the process.  When I pressed send the email was sent instantly....Why?

thanks,

 Danny

See http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP052427901033.aspx
where it says, "If you use Microsoft Exchange Server, ...".  If you had
searched on "delay" in Outlook's own help, it starts with the same
condition.

Does this mean that the only way with exchange server is to use rules?  I
used delivery options but it did not work...

Thanks,

 Danny

Are you using Exchange?  If so, the delayed delivery option should work
(without using a rule).  If it isn't working, contact your Exchange
admin.  I suppose it could be disabled in Exchange.

If you are NOT using Exchange, yes, you will need to us a "defer
delivery" rule on a send.  However, this is a rule which means Outlook
needs to be running to execute it.  So if you use a defer delivery rule,
you'll need to send the e-mail and then leave Outlook running until
after the delay has elapsed and the e-mail has been sent.

Ok, an exchange admin problem.  Thanks :-)
