Hi all,

I get a message opening outlook:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Appliactuion Data\Microsoft\Addin
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\sbcmsync.dll" is not a valid
Office Add-in.

I've been browsing the newsgroups, and came across numerous solutions,
deleting extend.dat, looking for the "Outlook Sync" option in Add-in
Manager.
Nothing in the registry either.

Can anybody tell me what else I could possibly try? All solutions I
found tested to no avail.
Perhaps anything else in the registry to check, permissions?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Stevie.

Hi Stevie,

Outlook is looking for Small Business Customer Manager (SBCM) when it opens, and this is why you are receiving this error message.   Do you remember installing this?  If you are sure
that no one uses Small Business Customer Manager on this machine, you can remove the reference to it in your Registry by following the steps below.

IMPORTANT : This contains information about modifying the registry. Before you modify the registry, make sure to back it up and make sure that you understand how to restore the
registry if a problem occurs.  For information about how to back up, restore, and edit the registry, please refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base article 256986 "Description of the Microsoft
Windows Registry."  You can view this article by clicking on the following link.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;256986

After backing up your Registry, navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\SBCM.ADDIN.1
With the Sbcm.addin.1 key selected, press DELETE.
