Windows XP/home - Outlook 2000

I have a document that hangs outlook so bad I need to terminate the task.
I moved it to the deletes files, but when I trry to empty the folder it
hangs Outlook.
No attachments.
Outlook already set for NO preview.
How can I delete this - or can I somehow delete the "deleted files" folder
and re3generate it.

Thanks

Select the item and hold down Shift while pressing Delete.

Sorry did not work - Still crashed OUTLOOK - in fact I get the microsoft
screen asking to send the status to MS.

How about DELETING THE FOLDER?  Can this be done?

You can't delete the Deleted Items folder.  Are you using a PST or are you
using an Exchange server.  If the latter, speak with the Exchange
administrators.  If the former, try compacting the PST (right-click Outlook
Today, choose Properties, click Advanced, then Compact Now) and try again.
If that doesn't work, close Outlook and run SCANPST on the PST.  If that
doesn't work, create a new PST (File>New>Personal Folders File), make it
your delivery location (on the General tab of the properties), and then move
the contents of all the folders to the new PST, except for the Delete Items
folder, of course.  Close the old PST (right-click>Close) and the next time
you close Outlook, you can delete the old PST.

By the way, if you are using a PST, how big is it?
