I have just started using Outlook 2003 and cannot find a shortcut that will
allow me to create new tasks without being logged into Outlook.  Is there a
way to get this shortcut on my desktop??  Thanks

Can't be done.  I can tell you a shortcut, but of course it will start
Outlook, since only Outlook handles tasks.

Create a shortcut whose target is

"%Program FIles%\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /c ipm.task

Include the quotes and spaces.
