"office" on it's own is NOT a domain. You need to set up something like
"office.net" or "office.local" or something like that.

Plus the fact that you need to have a mailserver set up with "office" as the
domain. If that's an /internal/ maibox then that's OK - if you are trying to
use POP mail with it then you need to buy and register the domain name
"office".

It must be a fully-qualified domain.

But "office" could potentially be a system's hostname on his network.
Does Outlook not automatically append the computer's domain name onto
provided hostnames?
Thanks,
Scott

No, Outlook does as it is told - it is not capable of reading minds.
