After closing Outlook, which is set to automatically prompt for backup
after closing, thorconnwndclass program hangs-up, reports that I may
need to re-start outlook and restart the computer; prevents Toshiba P 4
Laptop System running XP Prof. from shutting down, thus requiring that
I cut the power, prior to restarting.  Explanation and guidance from
any users who have resolved such issues will be appreciated. Thanks in
advance, Finn

But I don't use Outlook Express. Nor did I delete it.
Thx.

Just reinstall it - see if it works.
