I have tried copying my .pst file onto the hard drive but I get the following
error message:

Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Also, when I right-click the file and get to the Read-Only box, I can
uncheck it, but when I try to "apply" or "ok" the change, it says access
denied.  What else can I try?

What are you copying from? Presuming it was a CD, how did you make/burn it?

You may not have a good copy of the file. Do you still have access to the
original PST file?

It was burned to a CD-RW.  My hard drive crashed so I do not have any other
.pst file copies.  Darn, I hope all my info isn't lost.  Any other
suggestions?

Make sure you have removed the read only attribute and run a repair of the
PST, using scanpst.exe (do a file search for it on your computer). You may
first want to check the properties of the PST and take ownership of it if you
can. Did you password protect it perhaps?

A "CRC" error means that the data on the CD is most likely lost.  The only
way to be sure is to try a data recovery program like BadCopy Pro to see if
the contents can be retrieved.

This indicates that the copy on the CD is toast.

You can't remove the read-only check while the file is on the CD.  You must
copy it to the hard drive first, but you already said you can't do that.
