I've just had XP installed. Doing so left me with little download left for
the month, so I 'downloaded headers only'? and viewed my emails through Yahoo
mail and deleted unwanted emails. I've upgraded my download capacity, but now
can't open messages which I have 'headers' for, but have deleted in Yahoo
Mail. Could you kindly tell me how to open or delete those emails? Thank you.

You really expect to download (i.e., open) mails in Outlook that you have
already DELETED in Yahoo Mai's webmail interface?  You deleted the mails.
They are gone.  You already know they are gone.

Are you actually trying to report a different problem than you describe,
like not being able to delete items from your Inbox in Outlook for which you
only have headers?

Or perhaps yours is a troll post as indicated by your moniker of
"hooklinesinka"?

His problem is that if the message no longer exists, you can't delete the
headers from Outlook. I eventually got rid of my orphaned headers, but I
have no idea exactly how I did it - I think it used remote mail and syncing
a few times finally cleared out the orphaned headers.

Can you delete the orphaned headers by setting Outlook into Offline mode,
unloading and restarting Outlook, and then delete the headers while still in
offline mode?
