Hi
Is it possible to notify while working on other programs or even away from
the computer that new mail has arrived. I know how to set it in advance
options for max 30 seconds. Can one prolong this that the notification stays
untill attended to?

Hi Jaco,

I had the same problem and I read that you can just make a rule. I have done
it in Outlook 2003 and it works great. Go to the rules and start with...
1 Apply this rule after the message arrives
2 on this machine only
3 display New Email Alert in the New Item Alert window.

Hope this helps.

The envelope icon on the Notification bar will stay until you tend to the
mail if you select to show the icon, but the preview can't be set for more
than 30 seconds.

Untrue - you can set a notification window using rules that will persist
until manually dismissed.
