Email alerts for messages directly send to me. Outlook 2003

I do not wish to have the desktop alert set for every incoming email.
Is it possible to set rules for desktop alerts in outlook 2003

Yes.  Inbox, Tools | Rules and Alerts | New Rule | Start from a Blank Rule |
Next

Then select the criteria you want the email to meet.  Then Next and set the
action you want (Notify my using a specific mail desktop alert - or
something along those lines!) Write the desktop alert you want to get.
Next,, Finish.
