I have Outlook 2002 and Windows XP.  When I type a name or partial email
address when sending an email it automatically fills in if there is a match
in the address book.  Now, it is automatically filling in not only from the
address book, but also if I ever rec'd or sent an email to an different
address.  How do I change it so it will only look at the address book?

You are mistaken.
Autocompletion never uses your Contact Data (there is no address book in
Outlook).
Only autoresolution uses your Contact Data.
If you are unaware of the difference between the two, here is a primer:
http://home.indy.rr.com/russval/autocompletion.htm
Now you can decide which you want to use.

Russ,

Thanks for the link - I understand now, but still can't figure out how to
turn off autocompletion and enable autoresolution only.

An example: In my contacts I have shelvis@ooo.com and shelleyw@ooo.com, but
once I sent an email to sheldonaxelrod@ddd.com, so Sheldon comes up first in
the list and it's important that I don't send the email to the wrong
recipient.  I have selected in Tools>Options>Email>Advanced Email> Suggest
names while completing...because I do not use like using my mouse and
scrolling due to a hand injury.  I would much rather use my keyboard; hence
the autoresolution is enabled.

It's all explained on that page. To disable autocompletion, uncheck "Suggest
Names." To enable autoresolution check "Automatic Name checking."
