Outlook vertical scrollbar slider - no smooth scrolling

I have Outlook 2002 on Windows XP.  When I move the vertical scrollbar
slider in
Contacts, Journal and Tasks, the entries don't move until I release the

mouse button, then they jump to the final position.  Is there a way to
activate smooth scrolling?

The slider sort of works in the e-mail Inbox - it does smooth scrolling

but only on the second try.

I seem to remember there was a registry fix for this problem in Word
some years ago and wonder if there is one for Outlook.  Any help will
be appreciated.

There is not a registry fix. What kind of a mouse do you have? Some mouse
software has an adjustment. Also, if you use the wheel to scroll instead of
the slider it should scroll correctly with MS drivers.

Thanks for the reply.  I have a Logitech optical mouse with a wheel.
In Mouse Properties it says it is a Microsoft PS/2 mouse.  The wheel
works in all programs, and I can get smooth scrolling using the slider
in Word and Internet Explorer - it's just Outlook that seems to have
the problem.

Are you using the Logitech drivers? If so, do the new Logitech mice have the
option for office 97 scrolling in the software? if so, see if that makes a
difference.
